Restaurants At Rosewood Little Dix Bay – Ranked!
Rosewood Little Dix Bay is an ultra-luxurious property on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. One of the best things about this resort is the wide range of food options available, as well as different themed dinner evenings taking place throughout the week. They even offer daily complimentary ice cream on the beach, and afternoon tea in the Pavilion. We had the opportunity to check out all three primary dining spots, as well as The Rum Room when we visited in early June, 2025. Note that you should make a reservation with the resort in advance, or at the very least on they day before or day of your dinner, to ensure you get a spot. When we visited, not all of the restaurants were open every single day, so they can get full.

I’m going to skip ranking The Rum Room on this list, mainly because its focus is craft cocktails and, you guessed it, rums from all over the world. It’s really got an extensive list of rums and I highly recommend enjoying a sunset sip here. We hung out here no less than three times to enjoy different drinks, sips and snacks. You can have dinner here (we did – and the burger and fries was really, really good, and they have a rotating list of ice cream, sorbet and gelato which are all home made and outstanding!), but I would primarily recommend the Rum Room for the drinks, rather than the limited food options here. Onto the list!

1. The Sugar Mill
We enjoyed two spectacular dinners at the Sugar Mill, located right on the beach towards the center of the resort. The first dinner we experienced was their usual dinner menu, the second was their epic Barefoot Beach BBQ, and both were truly outstanding.

For their usual menu, they started off with some salty, fluffy focaccia bread, which was warm, fresh, and plentiful. We devoured several helpings!

The menu here revolves around seafood, and I enjoyed a very generous filet of red snapper. The sushi platter was noted to be under the sharing menu, but we all agreed it was probably enough for one person’s main meal. The lobster ravioli were also extremely fresh and super delicious.

While our regular evening dinner was amazing, the main reason to come here is for the Beach BBQ on Thursdays – it’s not to be missed! You’re greeted when you arrive with a fresh coconut, and the buffet dinner is all set up on the beach, just outside the restaurant area, and you’re encouraged to take off your shoes. At $135 per person ($57.50 for kids 6-12), it’s a bit pricey, but it’s also all you can eat, and the food is amazing. The salad spread is extensive and delicious, ranging from a simple guacamole with chips, to an amazing cabbage slaw, broccoli salad, and all you can eat shrimp cocktail.

They grill up all sorts of meats and seafood, including whole red snapper, lobster and shrimp, as well as steak, chicken and ribs. We agreed that the steak was quite overdone, but that was ok, since you really shouldn’t be eating anything but the seafood and the impossibly tender pork ribs.

There are plenty of sides including rice, corn, and mac and cheese. Additionally they have a seafood paella, which was also really yummy. There was really a ton of food at this BBQ!

Not to be overlooked was the massive dessert table. Individual, personal desserts suiting anyone’s tastes are featured. It’s really quite the spread, and tough to choose between all of the different options. I highly recommend saving room for dessert if you can, even though it’s really difficult with all of the amazing salads and BBQ!

2. The Pavilion
The Pavilion grabs the number two spot not only because they have a really nice, diverse menu for dinner with very large portions, but you also have your breakfast here each morning. The Pavilion is the very large building that you can see from the water, and is at the center of the resort.

Breakfast at the Pavilion is a grand buffet affair, and you can pretty much have whatever you want here. I would say that the options are very comparable to the buffet breakfast we experienced at Nayara Gardens in Costa Rica. Our teens enjoyed loading up on fresh fruit and baked goods, especially the donuts which rotated daily. The pineapple, papaya, and mangoes were our favorite local fruits!

I would recommend splurging on the french toast, which was fluffy, fresh and a really filling way to start your day. You can also special order any kind of omlette or egg scramble that you would like, and they bring it to your table, rather than having to stand around wait.

They also feature all sorts of fresh juices, cold cuts and cheese, cereals, as well as a hot buffet which includes eggs, potatoes and vegetables, and several types of bacon and sausages.

For dinner, The Pavilion features their signature dishes, which are of Carb-Indian flair, including different curries and butter chicken.

If Indian food is not your bag, the Pavilion also features the most diverse menu at the resort for dinner, including grilled items like steaks and fish, a pasta of the day, as well as a range of Italian appetizer offerings like arancini and caprese salad. We thought that the portions here were the most generous on the resort. Note that on Fridays, the Pavilion has a special “Cuts Night” when it turns into a steak house, which we didn’t have the chance to try.

3. The Reef House
Rounding out the list in the final spot is the Reef House, and just because it’s in the last spot does not, by any stretch, mean that it was bad. We enjoyed our dinner here on our first night at the resort, and it was their Mexican themed evening. I did want to try the restaurant for its normal non-themed evening, but it was fully booked by the time I requested the reservation. The Reef House is located near the dock of the resort, towards the northern end, and is also directly above the beach, so you get some really nice views here.

As mentioned, we ate here on a Saturday evening which is their Mexican themed night, and I suppose my only complaint is that the food is quite pricey for what you get, especially as compared to the massive portions that you get at the Pavilion and the all you can eat BBQ at the Sugar Mill. That said, the food was very good, and we enjoyed several of the types of tacos on offer. I absolutely loved the baja style fish tacos, and the prime ribeye tacos were also spicy and loaded with meat.

One of the best menu items was the Duck Nachos, which were essentially tostadas loaded with slowly braised duck meat, beans and sauce.

For dessert we enjoyed the fresh churros and the empanada de manzana. All in all, an excellent experience, though I do wish we could have checked out their regular evening menu. The Reef House was only open one other day that we were there, though, so it was tough to get in.

Between all of the different, fun themed nights at each restaurant, as well as the every-day menus, there is something for everyone at Rosewood Little Dix Bay. The food overall is extremely good, and some of the best on the island. Enjoy!
