COMO Shambhala Spa at Castello Del Nero: A Serene Escape in Tuscany
COMO hotels are known for their wellness programs, and their Shambhala Spas are the cornerstone of those programs. I was very excited to check out the Shambhala Spa at COMO Castello Del Nero during our stay there in July of 2026.

The spa is located right by the pool, which is a serene, stunning area unto itself. Stepping into the spa, however, is a new world of relaxation. The locker area, as well as the rest of the spa is well appointed in very calm blue and tan colors, and this color scheme was actually repeated in our refurbished rooms and bathrooms at the COMO resort in the Dolomites where we headed to next. At first, I thought the blue-green was VERY blue and a strange and bold color choice, but soon enough, I was chilling out in the relaxation area with views across the Tuscan hills.

Prior to the treatment, we were given a tour of the spa area, and all of the different rooms you can utilize before and after your treatment, including steam rooms, different infused showers, sauna, laconium, and hot tub. There was also a relaxation area with very comfortable beds and snacks as well as tea and water. There was no one using the area when my husband and I were there, so we had the place to ourselves.

The staff is extraordinarily kind and helpful, and genuinely interested in any issues you may have. I actually had originally scheduled a massage, but shortly before our trip I severely injured my back, and didn’t think the massage would be the best idea. They were helpful in changing my treatments and I opted for a Deep Sea Mud Treatment and a Guinot facial. The treatments were amazing, and my face has never been so soft. I made every single family member touch my face it was so exceptionally soft!

COMO resorts make wellness a cornerstone of their hospitality, and it really shows from the moment you arrive to their Shambhala spa. The staff are genuine and talented, and you will feel relaxed and refreshed after your treatment. I highly recommend setting aside some time for a treatment at the COMO Shambhala Spa at Castello Del Nero. While it’s tough to find the time when you are busy touring around Florence and drinking wine around Tuscany, but the spa is well worth the effort of tearing yourself away from everything Tuscany has to offer for a little bit of chill-out time and pampering.
