Where To Eat On Virgin Gorda: Hog Heaven Serves Up The Best BBQ And Views
If you’re looking for some epic views, as well as epic BBQ on Virgin Gorda, BVI, look no further than Hog Heaven, right smack in the middle of the island, and close to the highest peak around. We enjoyed dinner here in early June, 2025 after hearing some rave reviews.

Hog Heaven is an understated space that looks like a typical local restaurant from the side of the road. It’s a huge space though, with lots of outdoor seating, as well as seating around the central bar and kitchen. You’ll be eating at picnic tables with no fancy plates or cutlery or glassware, but everything is perfectly fine, as the vibe is more laid back and communal, rather than something upscale or high end.

The views here are second to none and are one of the two main reasons to venture to this out-of-the-way spot on the island. While it was a bit hazy from African dust while we were there, the views of the northern coast of the island were stunningly beautiful. I imagine in winter, you can also see some amazing sunsets from here too.

The food is the other main reason you should come to Hog Heaven. They’re known for their barbecue, and I wouldn’t skip over the ribs or the pulled pork. Portion sizes are ample, and it’s not that expensive, especially compared to eating at the resorts. We didn’t get any appetizers or desserts here, but we did order a few drinks, which were boozy and delicious.

Amazingly, everything comes from a grill that is not as big as you would expect, though smells amazing. I am guessing that service will be a littler slower on busier nights, but our food came out in record time.

Hog Heaven is on the top of a lot of “best of” Virgin Gorda lists for good reason. It’s no frills, but the food and views are spectacular. You won’t regret making your way to the top of the hill to enjoy everything this family-owned restaurant has to offer!
